Westjet will fly you there direct, from Winnipeg Manitoba. Isn't that another bonus? No delays or connecting flights simply means more beach time. However, La Paz is a 2 hour drive from the airport in Los Cabos, Mexico.

The hotel is not a sprawling resort. It's a Hyatt Place, similar to those you would find in Minneapolis, Denver or the like.

Eco tourism activities, like whale watching, sea lion and turtle watching, hiking, paddle boarding and kayaking are some of the most popular recreation activities here.

Tacos for Thanksgiving in the Mayan Riviera?

If Turkey and pumpkin pie just isn't your thing, you might want to jump on this 5 star deal to Mexico. Leaving October 11th and returning on the 15th, you will enjoy 4 nights on the beach and be pampered at any one of the luxury resorts that Westjet is offering.

These 5 star packages are starting at $ 797 taxes included. All inclusive. Pretty great eh? Cheap enough to invite your mother-in-law to tag along?!!

You'll have to watch carefully though, some of the flights have an overnight connection. While it might be fun to have a night in Vancouver, it's adding to your cost and taking away from your beach time.

If you'd rather wait two weeks, you can go for a whole week for $1002 taxes included at a very well rated, 4 star hotel. October 26th to November 2nd.

As always, do your research and read the current reviews from Trip Advisor before you book. Do look for the details, like how long you will have to sit on a shuttle to get to your destination, and whether or not airport transfers are included in your package.

Last Minute Mexico & more

I was flipping though travel sites, as I often do and found a few deals that caught my eye. They Hyatt Ziva in Rose Hall (Montego Bay) is a stunning 5 star hotel. Reviews are fabulous and I'd jump at the chance to go back to Jamaica. In winter you'll expect to pay $2800 or more for this trip. 

If you prefer the beaches of Mexico, there are super deals are out of Brandon Manitoba (YBR) with Westjet vacations! Look at the low taxes. It's rare that you can get a 5 star deal under $1000. So it's pretty sweet when you do. Packages are 6 nights and you'll need to grab a hotel in Calgary on the way.
