A short vacation (2-4 days) is better than NO vacation because:
1) You really won't miss much at work. Work will wait for you. Your "world" will survive a couple days. It's no different than a brief sudden illness when you have to miss a day or two.
2) A change of scenery and routine is very refreshing. You will feel recharged.
3) You will have a chance to reconnect with family or friends, or whomever you choose to travel with. If you go shopping with your best friend, or surfing with your spouse you'll make some shared memories.
4) Exploring your own state or province will renew your sense of pride and belonging. A short stay-cation can be very relaxing.
5) A short vacation can be tailored to fit any budget
